About this role
Role Overview
Help advance frontier AI models by applying hands-on business and sales operations expertise to the evaluation, design, and improvement of real-world operations work. You will work closely with research and program management teams, translating practical operating judgment into rigorous tasks, solutions, and benchmarks.
Key Responsibilities
- Review business and sales operations tasks and model outputs for missing behaviors, weak reasoning, flawed assumptions, unreconciled numbers, and recommendations that would not hold up in an operating review.
- Write instruction specifications, create gold-standard solutions to operations problems, and define tasks that reflect real operating practice.
- Design challenging operations evaluations and help develop domain-specific skills and tools with the research team.
- Calibrate standards with researchers and adjacent-domain specialists, turning tacit operating expertise into clear, teachable evaluation criteria.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of substantive ownership of a business, revenue, or sales operations function at a recognized organization. Quota-carrying sales experience without operations ownership does not qualify.
- Demonstrated progression to a senior level, such as Manager, Senior Manager, Director, Vice President, COO, or President, with ownership of a function, budget, or team.
- Specialization in at least one relevant area, including sales operations and territory or quota design, revenue operations and forecasting, CRM and go-to-market systems, pricing and deal desk, supply chain and inventory planning, business analytics, or process improvement.
- Bachelor''s degree required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree strongly preferred.
- Professional experience using large language models and sound judgment to distinguish rigorous answers from plausible but incorrect ones.
- Excellent written communication skills and the ability to provide precise, structured feedback.
Work Terms
- Full-time W-2 hourly role, with a reliable commitment of 40 hours per week for an initial 6-month engagement.
- Hybrid position based in the Bay Area, California. You must work on-site with the client team multiple days per week when required; this is not a remote role.
- Bay Area residency is required. Candidates who are not currently local must relocate at their own expense before the engagement begins. Relocation assistance is not available.
- You will receive client-issued accounts and equipment and work in the client''s tools alongside internal research teams.
Compensation
$60 to $100 per hour.
Eligibility
This is a structured employment role within a client team, not a freelance engagement.
Application Process
Apply through the job listing process. Candidates selected for the opportunity will complete employment, onboarding, payroll, benefits, and compliance steps through the designated employer of record before joining the client team.
Equal Opportunity
Qualified applicants are considered without regard to legally protected characteristics. Reasonable accommodations are available for qualified individuals with disabilities and disabled veterans throughout the application process.
What to prepare before applying
- Bachelor's degree.
- Live in the Bay Area, California, and be able to work on-site with the client's team multiple days each week when required.
- If not currently based in the Bay Area, willing to relocate there at own cost before the engagement starts.
- 4+ years of substantive ownership of a business, revenue, or sales operations function at a recognized organization; individual quota-carrying sales roles without operations ownership do not qualify.
