About this role

Role Overview

Apply Level 3 and Tier 3 network-support expertise to help turn production network data into structured inputs for AI-driven infrastructure. You will work with real deployed-network data and use your troubleshooting, incident-response, packet-analysis, and root-cause-analysis experience to support data pipelines that help intelligent systems reason about real-world networks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review network logs, configurations, telemetry, and event streams from deployed environments.
  • Label and classify network behaviors, issues, anomalies, and incident patterns.
  • Use experience with final escalations, packet analysis, outage troubleshooting, and root cause analysis to annotate and structure production networking data.
  • Help define schemas and data structures for large-scale pipelines used to train downstream machine-learning models.
  • Work directly with the client team.

Qualifications

  • Current experience as a Level 3, Tier 3, or Principal Support Engineer responsible for keeping enterprise infrastructure stable, including on-call work, root cause analyses, final escalations, and outage troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on experience supporting end-customer enterprise networks, including switches, access points, and firewalls in environments such as retail, healthcare, financial services, manufacturing, universities, or hospitality.
  • Hands-on enterprise Wi-Fi and wireless troubleshooting experience, including Cisco WLC, Aruba, or Meraki controllers, 802.1X, and RADIUS.
  • Ability to perform packet-level troubleshooting using tools such as Wireshark, tcpdump, and SPAN captures.
  • Interest in how raw infrastructure data is transformed into machine-learning inputs.

Role Fit

This is a hands-on infrastructure maintainer role. It is best suited to engineers focused on operational support and final escalation work, rather than roles primarily centered on network design or architecture, cloud or SRE, security or SOC, or IT helpdesk support.

Work Terms

  • Remote, hourly independent contractor engagement.
  • Expected commitment of 30 to 40 hours per week, with working hours that overlap the Pacific Time business day.
  • Individual 1099 contract paid to a personal account. Corp-to-corp and agency billing are not permitted.

Compensation

$50 to $70 per hour.

Eligibility

You must be authorized to work in the United States or Canada without sponsorship.
