About this role
Build realistic software engineering challenges that help train next-generation AI systems. You will create reproducible reinforcement-learning environments and gold-standard reference solutions that test an AI model''s ability to diagnose and fix code, deliver features, refactor codebases, and improve performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute expert code samples, debugging strategies, and development insight in Python 3, Java, Rust, Go, C++, or TypeScript.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex defects and performance bottlenecks across varied codebases.
- Implement scalable, maintainable features using sound software engineering practices.
- Refactor and optimize legacy code to improve clarity, efficiency, and long-term reliability.
- Create reproducible task environments and reference solutions for complex software engineering problems.
- Document technical reasoning, solution approaches, and code decisions clearly to support high-quality AI training data.
- Review and validate peer code and technical submissions for accuracy and clarity.
Qualifications
- Significant hands-on experience with at least one of Python 3, Java, Rust, Go, C++, or TypeScript.
- Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and core software engineering principles.
- Demonstrated ability to debug complex systems, fix defects, and deliver effective performance improvements.
- Experience refactoring large codebases and modernizing legacy systems.
- A record of delivering high-impact features from concept through delivery in cross-functional projects.
- Clear technical documentation and communication skills.
- A public open-source contribution history and profile, such as GitHub or GitLab, preferably demonstrating work in C++, Python, Java, Go, TypeScript, or Rust.
- Interest in AI and its technical challenges is valued; previous AI experience is not required.
Work Terms
- Remote independent-contractor engagement.
- Expected commitment of approximately 15 hours per week.
- Minimum weekly task-submission requirements apply.
- Selected contributors are expected to begin their first tasks within 24 to 48 hours after completing the required setup process.
Compensation
- Estimated pay range: $50 to $150 per hour.
- Compensation is output-based and paid per task that meets project specifications. Time required per task varies by experience and workflow.
Application Process
- Submit an application and complete screening questions.
- Complete an approximately 30-minute AI interview.
- Complete a technical assessment if requested, followed by hiring-manager review.
