Apply advanced FreeCAD and mechanical engineering expertise to create high-quality engineering work that helps train next-generation AI systems through practical, real-world input.
Key Responsibilities- Create, modify, and validate detailed parametric CAD models in FreeCAD to meet project requirements.
- Develop and optimize mechanical assemblies using sound assembly-design and component-integration practices.
- Apply GD&T and Design for Manufacturing principles to support manufacturability and quality.
- Produce clear technical drawings and documentation for engineering review and downstream processes.
- Perform engineering QA on CAD models and drawings, identifying, communicating, and helping resolve issues.
- Use Python scripting for CAD automation when applicable to streamline repetitive or complex modeling work. Python is highly preferred but not required.
- Provide feedback on model accuracy, design intent, and process improvements.
- 2+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, product design, industrial engineering, or a related field focused on parametric CAD modeling.
- Advanced proficiency with FreeCAD or an equivalent parametric CAD platform.
- Strong mechanical design fundamentals, including GD&T and DFM best practices.
- Ability to create comprehensive technical drawings and manufacturing and assembly documentation.
- Experience conducting engineering QA and verifying model integrity and compliance with specifications.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills for remote, project-based collaboration.
