About this role
Role Overview
Apply hands-on robotics and mechatronics expertise to help improve next-generation AI systems through practical engineering work, technical evaluation, and real-world feedback. This remote contract role focuses on using advanced AI coding agents to address complex STEM problems. Prior AI experience is not required, your domain expertise is central to the work.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and complete practical robotics and mechatronics tasks using AI coding agents, including Codex, Claude Science, Claude Code, and Claude Cowork.
- Design, implement, and document solutions for challenging robotics and mechatronics scenarios.
- Use AI agents on complex, ambiguous, or large-scale engineering problems, including navigating extensive codebases and debugging advanced issues.
- Provide detailed written and verbal feedback on AI agent performance and usability, with emphasis on workflows that generate code sequences rather than simple chat responses.
- Contribute real-world examples of AI coding tools supporting end-to-end feature development, architectural changes, and STEM problem-solving.
- Collaborate remotely with the project lead and share insights on applying AI agents to accelerate robotics and mechatronics projects.
Qualifications
- Current robotics, mechatronics, or STEM professional with a proven record of hands-on technical projects.
- Proficiency using Codex, Claude Science, Claude Code, and Claude Cowork to generate code sequences for real-world engineering applications.
- Experience applying AI coding agents to complex challenges such as debugging, system design, and technical workflow optimization.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create clear technical documentation and explain technical insights.
- Experience with large or intricate codebases, end-to-end feature implementation, or significant architectural changes.
- Ability to provide specific examples of AI agents supporting technical problem-solving or workflow automation in robotics or mechatronics.
- Comfort working in collaborative remote project environments and proactively sharing knowledge.
Work Terms
- Remote independent contractor engagement.
Compensation
- $80 to $100 per hour.
